I recently was honored to have been asked to create an image for one of my favorite teacher's charity, Love Is Louder than Cancer. The charity was just created a few months ago and has already had such a positive impact on so many lives. Please check out their website for more information on this fabulous group!

This reminds me of a story that my mom always recounts to me from when I was little. My close friend's mother asked me the heavy question "Are you a tomboy or a girly-girl?", which at the time was the debate of the century for most eight year old girls. My eight-year old self contemplated the question for a few seconds, then loftily responded, "I'm just Jolie." and for right now, just being Jolie is quite enough.

This quote was inspired by a lovely typography piece done by Corina, a very talented designer and the creator behind an absolutely flawless blog, I love her taste! See her original post here.
Oh and the background image was taken by my talented brother with a Canon Rebel T3i from the top of the Empire State Building.

When I was in New York, we visited Dylan's Candy Bar, a three story shop full of delightful confections of every color. I am so inspired by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph, of course) and her brand that she has expanded. The shop was absolutely fabulous and I found the sweetest gem on the floor of the stairs!

My trip to NYC was very successful, even though I discovered that pursuing an education in NY is just not for me. Both of the schools I visited were absolutely lovely, but I think New York would provide better opportunities for me as a college graduate as opposed to a college student.

I am absolutely ecstatic in preparation for my family's trip to NYC over Spring Break! We've scheduled visits at both NYU and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. I'm interested in getting a feel for the city and to tour an example of a more arts-based style school as opposed to a more traditional college experience. Even if college life in NYC ends up not being for me, I hope to live in the city at least once throughout the course of my life.

Clinton Kelly of TLC's What Not To Wear recently liked and repinned the Glitter Bean's design of his very own lovely words of wisdom! It's so crazy to think that the speaker behind the words I designed typography art based upon actually saw my design and acknowledged it. Now I need to get to work on some Beyoncé quotes haha...
