Love Is Louder

I recently was honored to have been asked to create an image for one of my favorite teacher's charity, Love Is Louder than Cancer. The charity was just created a few months ago and has already had such a positive impact on so many lives. Please check out their website for more information on this fabulous group!

Fashion vs. Style

The task of differentiating between fashion and style has been an ongoing theme in my life as I attempt to define the certain box my wardrobe fits in. Somedays I think it's preppy, as I admire seersucker and lovely Tory Burch flats, other days I like to think I'm more free-spirited as I slide on a colorfully woven Anthro headband. A recent realization of mine is that you don't always have to accurately define your sense of personal style.

This reminds me of a story that my mom always recounts to me from when I was little. My close friend's mother asked me the heavy question "Are you a tomboy or a girly-girl?", which at the time was the debate of the century for most eight year old girls. My eight-year old self contemplated the question for a few seconds, then loftily responded, "I'm just Jolie." and for right now, just being Jolie is quite enough.

Loud Silence

If the idea suggested by this quote was used every day, in every conversation and conflict, things would be very different. As I grow older, I'm beginning to realize that the little "witty" comments I try to insert into conversation can sometimes be irrelevant or even hurtful. Embracing silence can help identify the bigger person in a situation.

Life Moves Pretty Fast

One of my sweetest friends posted this quote on insta a few weeks ago & I absolutely love it. With my senior year looming in the distance, I tend to want to rush through things and just get stuff over with, without realizing that I only have a few short months left as a seventeen year old! This reminds me to cherish every moment, whether it's big or small, happy or sad.

An Adventure in Attitude

In my very short time here on earth, I have found that the attitude you embrace when walking into a situation often has the heftiest influence on the outcome.  Looking at every situation through rose-colored glasses is not always the most practical way to live, but it sure is fun!

Hard Work

Absolutely blessed to have had the honor of taking a master class by the wonderful choreographer Kristin Sudeikis! Kristin is full of words of wisdom and I could not agree more with her thoughts on hard work! It always feels good to work hard, especially when you love what you do.

I had the honor of seeing Lana Del Rey in concert a few weeks ago and she is an absolutely stunning vocalist and performer! I'm so inspired by this quote of hers, I hope that at the end of my life, I feel content with the products of my creativity I've developed throughout my lifetime.

My listening skills lately have been way under par. I feel like the older I've grown, the less I've truly cared about what others have to say, which can be a liberating feeling! However, I've realized that I need to quiet my own thoughts in order to truly listen to the ideas of others who mean a lot to me.

Beautiful Things

Love this gem from the incredibly inspirational movie, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. I saw the film about a month ago and it's beautiful imagery and moving message still inspire me! (I cried at the end, shh) The film really encompasses everything I love about creating something, especially images. Pictures have the power to compel someone to think a certain way or spark certain ideas, a factor which I think is often overlooked. Beautiful things never beg for attention, they attract appreciation naturally, with a special kind of magnetism.

This quote was inspired by a lovely typography piece done by Corina, a very talented designer and the creator behind an absolutely flawless blog, I love her taste! See her original post here.

Oh and the background image was taken by my talented brother with a Canon Rebel T3i from the top of the Empire State Building.

Getting Somewhere

"It doesn't matter how slow you go, as long as you don't stop, even to buy gummy bears."

Be happy with being you.

I absolutely love everything about Ariana Grande. Her voice, her style, and the way she carries herself are so very distinctive and so unique from other stars. I adore this quote from her about being happy with yourself, flaws and all!

Absolutely Obsessed...

When I was in New York, we visited Dylan's Candy Bar, a three story shop full of delightful confections of every color. I am so inspired by Dylan Lauren (daughter of Ralph, of course) and her brand that she has expanded. The shop was absolutely fabulous and I found the sweetest gem on the floor of the stairs!

True Diva

Today I celebrated my dear friend Hannah's sixteenth birthday! Since she is absolutely obsessed with the talented Lea Michele, I gifted her a print of one of my fave Lea quotes.

A Journey of Great Discovery

Loved this quote I found outside of a church in NYC.
My trip to NYC was very successful, even though I discovered that pursuing an education in NY is just not for me. Both of the schools I visited were absolutely lovely, but I think New York would provide better opportunities for me as a college graduate as opposed to a college student.

Good Things to Come

Whenever I get a little bit down or I'm going through a time of stress and worry, I always find myself saying this in my head. Why should you be down on yourself when there are so many wonderful things in store for you?

New York, New York

I am absolutely ecstatic in preparation for my family's trip to NYC over Spring Break! We've scheduled visits at both NYU and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. I'm interested in getting a feel for the city and to tour an example of a more arts-based style school as opposed to a more traditional college experience. Even if college life in NYC ends up not being for me, I hope to live in the city at least once throughout the course of my life.

Shout out to Clinton Kelly!

Clinton Kelly of TLC's What Not To Wear recently liked and repinned the Glitter Bean's design of his very own lovely words of wisdom! It's so crazy to think that the speaker behind the words I designed typography art based upon actually saw my design and acknowledged it. Now I need to get to work on some Beyoncé quotes haha...
